A 19-year-old woman from County Antrim is believed to have been caught up in Friday's attack in Manchester.

Three people were stabbed and five others injured by a man with a 'large knife' at Arndale shopping centre.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences and after an assessment by specialist doctors, he is being detained under the mental health act.

In a post on facebook, a friend of 19-year-old Chloe McGurk-reportedly one of the victims-said she's 'on the mend' and should be home soon.

Ellen De Conceicao said they had been on a 'girly weekend' when the attack happened.

Police say they are working to establish a motive for the attack and they do not believe there is any wider threat to the communities of Greater Manchester.
