NI records hottest day ever for second time in week

Just four days after Ballywatticock in Co Down recorded the hottest day on record, with an insane 31.2°C on Saturday (17th July) it looks like it's already been beaten. It's very close!
The Met Office recorded 31.3 degrees in Castlederg today, beating Ballywatticock's 31.2°C.
At the moment these are provisional readings, as the equipment in both stations must be verified to check it is working correctly.
The Met Office issued the first amber weather warning which came into force on today at 8am until midnight on Friday 23rd July.
With temperatures both by day and night increasing this week, the public need to watch out for sunburn and heat exhaustion.
