Man charged after fatal collision in West Belfast

A 32-year-old man has been charged over a fatal collision in West Belfast.

Seamus Conlon was hit by a stolen Vauxhall Vectra outside City Cemetery on the Whiterock Road shortly after midday on Saturday.

The 70-year-old died of his injuries.

Two other men who were also injured remain in hospital, with police describing their condition as serious.

All three had been attending a funeral when the collision happened.

PSNI Chief Inspector Gary Reid said: "The man has been charged to appear at Belfast MC on Monday 5 August with a number of offences including causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit due to drink or drugs and aggravated vehicle taking causing injury or death. As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS."
