Police charge man in investigation into Downpatrick assault

A 31-year old man is due before Downpatrick Magistrates Court next month.

He has been charged by police investigating a report of an assault at retail premises at the town's St Patrick's Avenue area on Saturday, April 20th.

The man is accused of common assault, and disorderly behaviour - he is due to appear before the town's magistrates on Thursday, May 16th.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
