Police find drugs worth £40,000 in North Down

Police say they have discovered suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £40,000.

It follows a search in the North Street area of Newtownards on Sunday, March 24th.

A PSNI spokesperson said: A significant cannabis cultivation was located which included ventilation, hydroponic and lighting equipment as well as plants at various stages of growth.

"Staff from Northern Ireland Electricity assisted in making the property safe due to electricity being bypassed. "
