Police investigate report of aggravated burglary in Co Down

Police in County Down are investigating a report of an aggravated burglary in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Just before 2 o'clock, a woman was in the living room of her Burrendale Park Close, Newcastle home with her teenage daughter and baby grand daughter when two men came through the front door.

Whilst it is reported threats were made to shoot, no money was taken and the men made off in the direction of the Dundrum Road.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Our investigation is underway and we are appealing to anyone with information to call us on 101, quoting reference number 109 14/01/24.

A 33-year old man has been arrested.
