Two pipe bombs have exploded, and two others have been dealt with in a spate of incidents overnight.

The devices that went off were thrown at a house on Windmill Avenue in Armagh at around 10.30pm.

Three adults who were inside the property at the time were not injured.

The attack caused damage to the front door.

This morning PSNI Inspector Ryan Moore said: “We are working to establish a motive for this attack and I am appealing for information. Police can be contacted on 101, quoting reference 1420 16/04/19.”

And in County Antrim a number of residents were forced from their homes in Rasharkin after two suspicious objects were found on Moneyleck Park.

One device was thrown through the living room window of a house. The other was found on the windowsill of another home on the road.

Neither exploded and were made safe in a security operation which lasted into the early hours.

The evacuated residents were brought to a local community centre, but were allowed to return on Wednesday morning when the alert ended.

Police say they are trying to establish motives for all of the incidents.
