The PSNI is appealing for information after a viable device was discovered in West Belfast.

A security alert was sparked in the Rossnareen Park yesterday at around 12.45pm after police responded to a report of a suspicious object in the area.

Ammunition Technical Officers examined the object which was later declared a viable device. The object has been away to be forensically examined.

Cordons in the area have now been lifted.

The PSNI has thanked members of the public affected by this incident for their patience and understanding.
