We all know what's going to be the hottest trend on TikTok and Instagram this month...sunflower snaps of course.

Nothing screams summer quite like a golden hour photoshoot with bold and beautiful flowers in the background!

And great news - one of Northern Ireland’s most popular summer tourist attractions is expected to finally reopens its gates this weekend!

The unpredictable weather this summer has made it difficult to plan an opening date. But the team at Portglenone Sunflower Field confirmed the news last night on social media.

With over 100,000 sunflowers, most standing 6ft tall, and an enchanting wild flower meadow, visitors continue to flock to the area village from near and far.

Located on the Gortgole Road along the banks of the River Bann, you can't miss the startling pop of colour amongst the rolling green fields of Co Antrim.

It all started back in 2018 when the McAllister family started to raise funds for their local church.

This year the team have picked Bowel Cancer UK as their chosen charity, in loving memory to the family's 'Mammy'. Admission is just £2.50 for adults, and £1.50 for those under 16 years of age.

Gates will swing open from 10am to 8pm every day, starting from Saturday 21st August.

There's also the opportunity to take sunflowers home with you too. Visitors shouldn't pick any, there are pre-cut stems available at the front gate starting from just £5.

Keep an eye on the Sunflower Field Portglenone Facebook page for relevant opening times before making the journey.

If you're planning on going this weekend, don't forget to send us/tag us in your snaps.
