It's been a glorious start to the week with long spells of sunshine. Temperatures reached 25.1°C in Castlederg, Co.Tyrone yesterday making it officialy the warmest day of the year, so far.

Good news for anyone off work or planning a barbeque, forecasters are predicting the good weather to continue. Heavy thundery downpours are possible towards the end of the week, with the risk of thunder and lightning, before things brighten up again in time for the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday look promising with some dry weather on the cards, temperatures should recover to near-normal for the beginning of June.
