Northern Ireland was treated to blue skies and scorching heat yesterday, with much of the country feeling like a tropical paradise.

Temperatures fell half a degree short of the all time record high (30.8C), as the mercury rose to 30.5C in Derrylin and Thomastown in County Fermanagh.

Good news, it will remain dry and very warm through this weekend with temperatures continuing to soar into the high-twenties, according to the Met Office.

"There will be a good deal of dry weather with sunny spells. The end of June and beginning of July will remain overall drier and warmer than average."

With no rain in the forecast for the next SEVEN TO TEN DAYS, there is no sign of the heatwave letting up just yet, however it will feel slightly cooler than recent days on Saturday and Sunday.

The start of next week will remain dry with long sunny spells, temperatures will range from 20 to 25 degrees, feeling cooler along the coasts. As we head into the first week of July weather conditions will stay settled and very warm.
