Co Down issued with yellow weather warning of rain and wind tonight
It will come into effect from 6pm ☔️
Heavy rain and very strong winds are possible this evening (Monday 7th Nov) with gusts of 50-60 mph temporarily and perhaps 70 mph on some exposed coasts.
Up to 20 mm of rain is expected to fall within an hour. There is also a chance of hail and lightning in a few places as an additional hazard.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of rain and wind to come into effect from 6pm today to midnight.
For most this will simply be a period of normal, unpleasant autumn conditions.

Today: Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain, although some drier spells are likely around the middle of the day. The rain will be occasionally heavy, especially in the west this morning and the south later this afternoon. Strengthening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Tonight: Cloud and occasionally heavy rain clear east towards midnight with clear spells developing overnight. Some heavy showers expected in east towards dawn. Windy this evening with southerly east coast gales. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Tuesday: Heavy showers in east soon clearing otherwise a dry start with sunny spells. However cloud will bubble up with occasionally heavy showers developing for the afternoon. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: Sunny spells and a few showers Wednesday. Rather cloudy Thursday and Friday with occasional rain but mild with often strong southerly or southwesterly winds, risk of east coast gales Friday.
