The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and flooding affecting parts of Northern Ireland tomorrow.

A band of rain will move east across Northern Ireland during Monday, possibly becoming slow moving during the afternoon and evening.

The yellow weather warning is in place from 7am to 10pm on Monday.

Some heavy rain is expected at times, with 10-20 mm of rain falling fairly widely, whilst a few places may receive around 40 mm.

There is uncertainty in the extent of the larger rainfall totals, but given that the ground is already saturated after recent heavy rain, even the lower totals may produce some flooding.

What to expect

  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
