The weather this week is set to be a scorcher, with temperatures in Northern Ireland soaring into the high-twenties, according to the Met Office.

"For the majority, it will stay fine and dry. Most areas will continue to see plenty of fine, sunny and very warm weather."

The improvement begins today with the mercury rising through Tuesday and Wednesday.

Temperatures will range from 25 to 29 degrees, feeling warmer inland and cooler along the coasts. Wednesday could see temperatures smash the hottest day of the year so far record.

If you are working there is good news - it will remain dry and warm into the weekend with many areas seeing continued long sunny spells.

It will be just as hot in Northern Ireland as it will be in L.A, Barcelona, Faro and Nice.

Gutted if you are flying off on your summer holidays.
