NI looks set to be hotter than the Canary Islands this weekend ☀️

Sunday is predicted to be the hottest day of the year 🙌

Earlier this week, a tropical airmass was set to hit our shores, bringing with it dry weather and warm sunshine.

This weekend temperatures are expected to reach the mid 20s in some areas across Northern Ireland on Sunday.

Weather experts are predicting that the high pressure is set to stay. With less cloud expected on Sunday temperatures could soar to 25/26°C ☀️

Meanwhile popular summer destinations like Tenerife and Gran Canaria will have to make do with with 20-23°C.

Friday evening: A mainly dry evening and night with some late sunny then clear spells, although cloud increasing in the west later. A much fresher night than of late. Minimum temperature 6 °C

Saturday: A bright start in the east but generally a rather cloudy day with perhaps a few spots of rain along the north coast. Brighter in west later in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 18 °C

Sunday: Warm and dry across NI, with temperatures ranging from 21 to 25 degrees. Patchy rain and drizzle could creep into some areas in the late afternoon.

Cooler again Monday with a few showers and sunny spells. Dry, bright start Tuesday but cloudier in afternoon with rain later.
