There's something special about waking up to a covering of the white stuff on Christmas morning. It's been years since Northern Ireland last had a proper White Christmas.

As for the chances this year, unfortunately the Met Office say it's unlikely.

The latest Christmas Day forecast on their website states; "A dry, frosty start on Christmas Day then settled with some long spells of sunshine. Turning wet and windy into Boxing Day then drier, if rather cloudy on Friday."

At least one snowflake has to fall somewhere in the UK on December 25 for it to be classed as a white Christmas.

Met Check have released a Will I Get A White Christmas? checker – so you can check the probability in your town.

It’s currently predicting a 25 per cent chance in Belfast.
