More wind and rain expected across Northern Ireland this weekend

Wet and windy weather is expected to hit Northern Ireland from Saturday evening and stay into early next week.

Speaking in the Met Office’s 10 Day Trend, Presenter and Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “A band of rain will clear by the start of Thursday and that will be followed by sunny spells and showers with low pressure never too far away from the UK.

“Some cooler weather, along with some chilly nights, are likely as we move towards the weekend.”

Northern Ireland’s weather forecast:

Friday: Bright with occasionally sunny spells and showers. It will feel chilly in the moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday: A chilly start on Saturday, then dry and bright, but rain in the evening. Showers or longer spells of rain on Sunday and Monday, the rain heavy at times.
