Yellow weather warning in place this weekend across Northern Ireland

More rain is on the way ☔️

According to the Met Office, further heavy showers will affect Antrim and Down at times through Friday and Saturday.

A statement on their website reads: "10 mm of rain is possible within an hour, with a few places seeing 30-40 mm in 6 hours where the most frequent showers occur."

The forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning that comes into affect from 12pm noon on Friday 27th October to 6pm on Saturday 28th October.

What to expect:

☔️ Spray and flooding on roads will make journey times longer

☔️ Bus and train services affected with journey times taking longer

☔️ A few homes and businesses flooded

Today: Bright spells and showers these rather frequent in the east and southeast with some heavy and perhaps thundery outbreaks. Drier over western parts, with some sunny spells, but some sharp showers too. Moderate southeast winds, perhaps fresh near east coast.. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight: Rather cloudy with scattered showers, but some clear spells, before showery, occasionally heavy rain pushes in from the south later in the night with southeasterly winds freshening, Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain, some heavy but becoming drier and brighter in west through the afternoon. Strong southeast winds turning south or southwest, easing later Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Rain or showers on Sunday, but drier and perhaps brighter in west. Rain clearing Monday morning, then dry, bright and rather cold, but windy later Tuesday with some rain.
