The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain this evening across Northern Ireland.

It's expected to be heaviest across parts of south Down, especially south-facing slopes of the Mournes.

Widely 15-25 mm of rain will fall here in a relatively short period of time, with parts of the higher ground in the area seeing 40-50 mm.

The Met Office has warned: "Given saturated ground in the area, these sort of totals have the potential to lead to some disruption to transport and utilities."

What to expect:

☔️ Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely

☔️ Bus services probably affected with journey times taking longer

☔️ Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer

The yellow weather warning is in place from 9pm this evening (Friday 17th) until 3am on Saturday 18th November 2023.
