NINE-man Glenavon took a point from their opening weekend Danske Bank Premiership meeting with Ballymena United.

The game ended 2-2 at the Showgrounds - Aaron Prendergast scored a last-ditch goal for the Lurgan Blues to rescue a draw.

Peter Campbell also scored, but the visitors saw Bradley and Andrew Doyle dismissed.

Paul McElroy and Jordan Gibson were on the score-sheet for the Sky Blues.

Evan McLaughlin scored a first-half double as Coleraine saw off Cliftonville 3-1.

Ryan Curran pulled one back for the north Belfast side before Jamie Glackin's superb effort sealed it for the Bannsiders.

Crusaders opened their campaign in style - Stephen Baxter's side thumping Dungannon Swifts 5-1 at Seaview - Paul Heatley and Ben Kennedy with a brace apiece.

Carrick Rangers claimed a 2-1 win over 10-man Newry City. Efforts by Curtis Allen and Steven Gordon cancelled out Thomas Lockhart's stunning long-range opener.
