Glentoran Women's win gave the chasing pack in the title race a boost

Glentoran Women secured a 3-1 win over Cliftonville Ladies in the Danske Bank Women's Premiership to give the title race a jolt.

The Reds had won all 12 of their league matches this campaign going into the game and took the lead in this one through as Toni-Leigh Finnegan turned home after Glentoran failed to clear a corner.

However just minutes later, Nadene Caldwell fired home from the edge of the area to level. Emma McMaster then put Glentoran ahead for the first time on 75 minutes.

Then as Cliftonville, pushed for an equaliser, Hamilton pounced on a loose back-pass to seal the victory.

Elsewhere, Sion Swifts leapfrogged Linfield in the table, with an eight-goal victory over Derry City Women.

Cora Chambers notched a hat-trick, as Aimee Neal, Naomi Donnan and Kelly Crompton all got on the score-sheet.

Crusaders Strikers consolidated their place in the top three with a 4-1 win over Mid Ulster Ladies. Emily Wilson's opener just after half-time was cancelled out by Sharagh Murphy's lob.

Wilson restored the Crues lead with 12 minutes left, and late goals from Leontia McVarnock and Amy McGivern put the gloss on the scoreline.
