Linfield have crashed out of Champions League qualification after a heavy 8-0 defeat in Norway to Bodo/Glimt in their second round, second leg qualifier.

David Healy's side went into the tie on Wednesday, with hope high after a 1-0 win in Belfast in the first leg.

But that hope was quickly extinguished in Norway.

Bodo took the lead on the night and levelled the tie after just six minutes - Veltesen giving the home side the lead.

The hosts were then presented with a chance to go 2-up after 20 minutes from the penalty spot - and Linfield's Kirk Millar was sent-off for handball - Boniface scored the penalty.

Pellegrino made it 3-0 after 24 minutes, with Saltnes adding a fourth just four minutes later.

Substitute Runar Espejord scored the fifth from close range, and Amahl Pellegrino stepped up to score the Norwegians second penalty of the night to make it 6-0.

Alfons Sampsted rounded off a neat team-move as Bodo made it seven on 73 minutes. Linfield's misery was complete on 88 minutes when Espejord scored another from close range to complete an 8-1 aggregate victory.
