Irish Cup finalists, Crusaders have been fined £500 and had their 3-0 final league game win over Ballymena overturned - after a team-sheet mistake.

David Cushley came on as a half-time substitute during Saturday's Danske Bank Premiership match at the Showgrounds - but was not named in the official line-up.

As a result Ballymena were awarded all three points.

NIFL’s decision does not change the overall league standings.

David Jeffrey’s side still finish second while the Crues claim fourth.

But it means Ballymena finish the campaign with 78 points with Stephen Baxter’s team now on 65 points.

In a statement, NIFL said: “The Premiership Management Committee reached a decision regarding an issue raised in Saturday’s Crusaders v Ballymena United fixture in the Danske Bank Premiership.

“Following discussion, and consideration of Rules 21(a) and 37 of the NIFL Premiership Rules, the members agreed in accordance with Rule 38(a) that Crusaders FC be fined a sum of £500 and that Ballymena United be awarded the three points for the match with a scoreline of 3-0."
