The last two semi-finalists for the Ulster Senior Football Championships will be decided over the course of the weekend - with two big clashes today and tomorrow.

This afternoon sees Monaghan taken on Down at St Tiernach's Park in Clones (4.30pm), before Tyrone and Derry go head to head on Sunday at Healy Park, Omagh (4pm).

The winners of those two clashes will meet in the last four at Armagh's Athletic Grounds on Sunday May 15th (4pm). A week prior, Cavan and Donegal face off in the first semi-final back in Clones on May 8th (4pm).

With Cavan having ousted Antrim in Corrigan Park before Donegal got the better of Armagh in front of a bumper crowd in Ballybofey last weekend, it's now the turn of the remaining four counties.

Monaghan look to be strong favourites going into this afternoon's encounter with a Down side who have endured a dismal 2022 to date.

While Monaghan produced a scintillating final day 3-13 to 1-21 victory over Dublin to maintain their Division 1 National League status for next year, in contrast Down suffered relegation to Division 3.

James McCartan's side have been hit with numerous player opting off the panel and in their seven games in Division 2, they didn't managed a win, with 6 defeats and a draw against Meath the total of their efforts as they finished bottom of the table.

TYRONE AIMING FOR BACK-TO-BACK PROVINCIAL TITLES

While reigning All-Ireland champions Tyrone will go into Sunday's home tie against Derry, it's unlikely they'll have to all their own way against a resurgent Derry outfit in Omagh.

Rory Gallagher's Oak Leafers narrowly missed out on promotion to the top division of the National League, finishing a point behind the top two of Roscommon and Galway.

Although they will have relegated Dublin and Kildare to contend with in Division 2 next season, you wouldn't bet against them being right up in the promotion spots in 2023.

For Tyrone, their Preliminary Round 2-17 to 2-10 win over Fermanagh in Brewster Park almost came at a cost to Feargal Logan's side. They had Conor McKenna sent off in the second half after being adjudged to have contributed to a melee.

However, the GAA's Disciplinary Committee overturned Referee Joe McQuillan's decision and the former Australian Rules star will be pushing for a start tomorrow.

It all means it will be an intriguing weekend as far as the 2022 Ulster Senior Football Championship is concerned.

Cavan and Donegal are one step away from the provincial final...but who will join them?
