The sculpture has been designed to inspire Team GB ahead of the games in Rio and encourage the public to show their support for the British athletes competing.

Rebecca won two Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Olympics becoming the first British swimmer to win two Olympic gold medals since 1908.

In the video below Rebecca talks about the Olympics and how it feels to be away from your family.

Since retiring from competitive swimming in 2013 Rebecca has appeared on various TV shows and most recently become an ambassador for Kellogg’s Great Starts campaign.
