The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the signing of Defenceman Jérôme Leduc for the remainder of the 2016/17 season. Leduc arrives in Belfast on Thursday and will be available to play in the home games on Friday and Saturday against the Cardiff Devils.

Leduc is a 24 year old from Québec, Canada and was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round, 68th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Following his draft year, in the 2011/12 season Leduc led the Québec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in both goals as well as points by a Defenceman and earned the awards of Defenceman of the Year and the First All-Star Team.

Steve Thornton, Head of Hockey Operations, on the signing of Jérôme Leduc:

“We are excited to be able to bring in a player of Jérôme’s quality at this stage of the season. He will add stability to our d-corps and will also help going forward.”

“Unfortunately we received news that Alex Foster will miss a significant number of games following an injury sustained in the game against Fife and we made sure to move quickly to bring in the best possible player available.”

Tickets are on sale now for both Friday’s and Saturday’s games against the Cardiff Devils and are available online via Ticketmaster, all Ticketmaster Outlets, the Arena Box Office in person or over the phone by calling 028 9073 9074.
