Snowboarder Aimee Fuller has all but booked her place in next year’s Winter Olympics in Korea.

The 25-year-old from Holywood has had a series of top-flight finishes in qualifying events around the world.

And it means she is now on the brink of competing for Team GB in her second Games.

“Going forward I am sat in a really good position in terms of qualification,” she said.

“The season’s ended. I finished 9th in the Olympic quota list and I need to stay in the top 30.

“Basically, between now and next February I need to maintain that position.”

In the latest qualifying event in the Czech Republic Aimee finished a whisker outside a podium place.

Ranked fifth overall in the world, Aimee is now one of the sport’s biggest names.

She took time out during a short break home to talk to Downtown & Cool FM.

“It’s been a crazy winter – I’ve been all over the world – so it’s nice to come home for a while,” she said.

“To qualify for Team GB would be the ultimate – walking into the at ceremony will be something special.

“And having been there three years ago it’s just make me hungrier to go back.”
