It was a night to forget for Ulster as they fell to their second PRO14 defeat.

Dan McFarland’s side lost 22-15 at the Kingspan to Connacht – a team who last won in Belfast in 1960!

Jacob Stockdale (main pic), back in the line-up after injury, marked his return with a try.

There was also a welcome return for Rory Best.

But a red card for Matty Rea left Ulster with an uphill battle.

And it could have been worse for the Province – a late try from Nick Timoney meant they saved a losing bonus point.

Before the game, McFarland had challenged his players to see off teams in games.

But they struggled to find any way through what was an aggressive game-plan from the visitors.

Ulster take a break from PRO14 action now.

Next up is a Champions League opening game against the Leicester Tigers.
