Ulster players, Jacob Stockdale, Rob Herring and Iain Henderson have been named in the Ireland team to face Australia in the first test match of the tour Down Under.

Joe Schmidt’s made six changes to the side which beat England to clinch the Grand Slam.

Leinster lock, James Ryan (21) will play alongside Henderson (pictured) in the second row.

Speaking to the IRFU, he said it would be a “tough” challenge

“They were the last team to beat the All Blacks,” he said.

“We are expecting an incredibly tough test match and – we are well aware of the threat they pose.”

Johnny Sexton will be on the bench for the game which takes place in Brisbane on Saturday.

Munster-bound Joey Carbery replaces Sexton at outside-half, with Robbie Henshaw coming in for centre Garry Ringrose in the only other change to the backline.

And there is a new front row of Jack McGrath, Rob Herring and John Ryan, and flanker Jordi Murphy starts as Peter O'Mahony takes over the captaincy from injured Ulster hooker Rory Best.
