Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ is one of the best selling books of all time, but if you have a very early version it could be worth a fortune.

It seems the first 500 copies of the 1997 novel contained a typo that slipped by the book’s editors.

Check page 53 of your copy, and read the list of school supplies that new wizards are expected to bring to Hogwarts, if you see “1 wand” listed twice then you have one of these rare editions:

One of these books with the typo is expected to sell at auction for a cool £26,000 when it goes under the hammer in London this November.

Head of Books and Manuscripts at Bonhams, Matthew Haley explained “As the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has a special place in the affections of the millions of readers across the world and the proof reading error about the wand in the first edition has, of course, become a treasured piece of Harry Potter arcana.”
