Man asks Tesco to 'ban' women for shopping in their pyjamas

He complained to the supermarket

We are all guilty of staying in our pyjamas a little too long sometimes and now two women from Manchester have been shamed on social media for popping into a local Tesco's in their pj's.

An outraged shopper in the store in Salford took to social media to ask the supermarket to ‘ban’ the two customers and even branded them ‘disgusting’.

Along with a picture of the two women, the man posted a message to Tesco’s official Facebook account reading, “Dear Tesco, please can you put a rule in place that people like this will not be served in your stores. It’s bloody disgusting.

“This was at 7pm last night at your Tesco Salford store and I have seen other people dressed similar on a regular basis. I mean who doesn’t have time to get changed into clothes to go shopping.”

The supermarket giant quickly responded to the complaint and wrote, “Many of our customers have told us that they feel uncomfortable when they see other shoppers wearing unsuitable clothing in our stores and we do try to find a balance that everyone is happy with.

“Although we don't have a formal dress code in our stores, we rely on our management team to use their discretion and common sense.”

The annoyed man’s comments sure caused a stir on social media. Whilst some agreed with him, others were angered that he’d taken the women’s photo without their permission. One user wrote, “I for one find it uncomfortable to have to shop alongside people who spend their time taking photographs of strangers minding their own business rather than just ignoring things that do not affect them in any way.”

Another user wrote, “It's pathetic. It's like me complaining about people going out in flip flops with chipped polish on their toes. It makes me uncomfortable but you don't see me taking photos of people's feet."

The post has since been deleted, with Tesco yet to comment further on the situation.
