Former Hawick hotel put up for auction after police unearth cannabis farm inside

A former hotel in Hawick has been put up for auction - just months after police unearthed a cannabis farm estimated to be worth half a million pounds inside.
Two men were arrested in connection with the raid at the former Buccleuch Hotel in Trinity Street in October.
The 20-bed attraction, which boasts 10 bathrooms, is being advertised with a guide price of £150,000.
The property is being marketed by London agents Allsop, which runs an online auction site, and is said to have "possible redevelopment potential".

The building is listed as Lot 202 in the sale planned on May 9th.
Notice of the auction comes just days after the chairman of the Jim Clark Rally revealed a shortage of overnight accommodation in the Borders could prevent the event expanding.
