Selkirk man bit Galashiels woman on the arm during struggle, court told
A court's heard a 43-year-old man who bit a woman on the arm during a struggle at her home in Galashiels was caught in her bedroom just over a month later - in breach of a court order.
Alan McPherson admitted the assault at an address in the town's Tulley Court on December the 2nd last year.
He also pled guilty to breaching a court order not to approach or contact the woman on January the 8th.
Selkirk Sheriff Court heard McPherson had been drinking at the woman's home, and she left due to his behaviour.
When she returned, prosecutor India McLean said he had become "extremely intoxicated", and a struggle ensued before the assault took place.
McPherson also admitted a separate charge of being in possession of a knife in a public place.

Police found him passed out on the pavement outside his home in Selkirk's Bannerfield Drive, around half past midnight on December 23rd last year.
Solicitor Ed Hulme said he had gone outside to speak to someone, with the knife still in his hand, but is seeking help for his alcohol consumption.
Sentence was deferred for background reports until May the 13th.
But Sheriff Peter Paterson warned McPherson: "If it wasn't for various pieces of legislation directing courts away from short-term prison sentences, that's what would happen today."
