The Traitors fans fume as first episode ends on HUGE cliffhanger

The game is back!

After over a year of waiting, BBC's hit reality show The Traitors made an emphatic return last night (Wednesday 3rd January), as host Claudia Winkleman welcomed 22 brand new contestants to Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.

Upon arrival to Scotland, it didn't take long for the game to begin, as Claudia asked the contestants to get into an orderly line from most likely to win, to least likely to win, despite only knowing each other for a few hours.

Later on in the episode, Claudia chose Harry, Ash and Paul as 'The Traitors', meaning the other 19 contestants were picked as 'The Faithfuls'.

Despite fans loving the opening episode, bosses decided to drop a huge twist by revealing The Traitors had to the power to pick a fourth member, narrowing it down between Sonja, Andrew, Diane, and Miles.

HOWEVER, fans were left fuming when the episode ended before the decision was made, resulting in many to take to social media to express their annoyance.

One wrote: 'DO NOT CLIFFHANGER THIS. #TheTraitorsUK', with another writing: 'Leaving it on a cliffhanger where we don't know who the fourth traitor is or who is in contention to be murdered. BBC you are NOTHING #TheTraitorsUK.' (sic)

A third wrote: 'I hate the cliffhanger because I wanted to try and watch as they air but now I can't believe I have to wait a day'. (sic)

A fourth then added: 'Ok I'm giving in and going to watch the next episode. That cliffhanger was too evil to leave on it'. (sic)

Don't panic though, if you're a huge fan of The Traitors, in another change for series two bosses have decided to upload the first three episodes to the BBC iPlayer, so if you want to binge the first week you can.
