We're so excited that the lovely Angellica Bell has joined our Hits Radio Breakfast team whilst our wonderful Fleur East is having her baby. Angellica joins James and Matt every weekday from 6am-10am to play the biggest hits and the biggest throwbacks.
We sat down for a chat to ask Angellica some questions about the music she loves and what we can expect from her on the show...
What can we expect from your show on Hits Radio?
"Anyone who knows me will tell you I like to have fun, good chat and lots of banter and I really want that to come through on the show! Also, I think audience involvement will be high on the list - I love to hear from listeners because it's about them and often they have the best stories and are hilarious."
What is your go-to track to listen to in the car?
"That's a difficult question.... I love music and always have it on in the car. Right now, 'Stay' by Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber is such a tune and 'As it Was' by Harry Styles is also another banger, however another curveball is Beyonce's 'Texas Hold Em' which is great one to sing along to. I gave you a few choices there!"

What do the biggest hits sound like to Angellica?
"The biggest hits are the ones that are instantly recognisable and stand the test of time - you know the songs that you remember and take you back to a fantastic moment or memory. That's why I love the throwbacks on Hits - So many good tracks and I used to dance all night to them when clubbing was a thing!"
Which song is your go-to karaoke anthem?
"I'm going to be completely honest and let you into a secret....I'm not a huge karaoke fan but during covid we bought a karaoke machine and used to sing lots in the house. One night, I dressed up in 70s gear with a blonde wig and sang Diana Ross 'Upside Down'!"

How different is presenting on radio compared to TV?
"Well there's no need for a glam squad that's for sure and you can get to work 20 minutes before you need to start which is totally different from TV.
"Now that cameras are in studios you still need to make a bit of an effort but you don't need to look directly at them. I always present as if I'm talking to one person having a chinwag with them and it's the same approach I bring to radio - make it personal and chatty."
What did you look forward to about joining the Hits Radio family?
"I'm looking forward to working with James and Matt in the morning but also meeting other members of the team. I love the music Hits play too so dancing around the studio, every day will be fun and set me up each morning!"

What did Fleur East say about Angellica covering the show in her absence?
At the time of the announcement, Fleur said: "I can’t believe it’s my last week, it’s honestly flown by. But I am ready to get in the zone now, I need to get home, I need to start nesting and I need to try and sleep whilst I have any time left! The thought of leaving is a little bit weird but I am so pleased to say that one of my good friends, Angellica Bell, is going to be the one looking after things for me."
Angellica later joined Fleur, and her new co-hosts James and Matt to reveal that it was Fleur who had asked her to join the Hits Radio family. She said: "I was so honoured when you called and asked me to cover, I just thought ‘yeah, I’m going to do justice for your job, be here and then when you’re ready you come back. I am so excited for you, and you are going to be an amazing Mum but now we just want you to take some time out and chill out!"
As well as presenting on Hits Radio, what is Angellica Bell up to now?
Angelica told us: "I present the Saturday Breakfast show too so it's six early starts a week for a while! Good thing I don't mind getting up early.
"I've got TV slotted in here and there but for now I'm enjoying a good spell of radio. I'm using this time to get fit too - I'm back in the gym!"
