Nu metal leviathans Limp Bizkit have confirmed a date for their ten-years-in-the-making new album, and released the artwork, a tracklisting, and snippets of 8 new tracks.

Following the release of their single 'Dad Vibes', complete with hypnotically psychedelic video, the band were dropping hints on social media with increasing regularity in the past few days.

In August of this year Limp Bizkit issued a statement saying "New songs will begin to leak, one after the other in rapid succession very soon. Soon thereafter, our new album will be released."

Posting on his Instagram story this week, totemic frontman Fred Durst (resplendent in his new look of white handlebar moustache) was asking fans whether they'd like the band to release an entire new album or a selection of songs.

In one video, Fred attached a poll to his story, with fans overwhelmingly voting for a new album.

What is Limp Bizkit's new album release date?

The new Limp Bizit album 'Still Sucks' will be released worldwide on Sunday 31st October 2021, Halloween.

In June this year, Limp guitarist Wes Borland said that he was "way done with my parts on the record" and that it was just "perfectionist" Fred Durst's vocals that the band were waiting on.

As well as the apparent Halloween album release date, the post stated that the snapshot of artwork in the background was "Album cover piece 1".

The attached illustration looks similar to the trademark drawings that Limp Bizkit guitarist and artist Wes Borland has painted over his guitar amps, not to mention various other pieces of Limp Bizkit album artwork that he has drawn throughout the years.

Since that first artwork, both the band's official Instagram account and Fred Durst's personal account have posted several more of the same colourful cropped images.

The second drawing depicts a flying saucer, which is an emoji that Fred Durst has used regularly recently when replying to people on Instagram posts.

What is Limp Bizkit's new album title?

The third piece seems to depict a man's face, pixellated. Fans on Limp Bizkit forums have suggested it might be the band's drummer John Otto...

Interestingly, the letters 'ST' can be seen on this image, reigniting suspicion that the album may well still be called 'Stampede of the Disco Elephants'.

The fourth piece of artwork is a closely zoomed picture of a cartoon woman's leg, wearing a stiletto shoe.

Are Limp Bizkit touring the new album?

Limp Bizkit have been touring pretty consistently since 2009 and the subsequent release of their 2011 album 'Gold Cobra', appearing at festivals around the world and also playing a number of headline tours in the UK.

So there's a good chance that a new album will result in a renewed touring schedule, although potentially the knock-on effects of venue congestion caused by the pandemic will mean that fans may have to wait a while for a comprehensive UK tour.

They announced in July 2021 that they will play their first UK shows in four years next summer.

The nu metal legends only have two dates in the diary: Manchester Academy on Friday 22nd July 2022 and London O2 Academy Brixton on Sunday 24th July 2022.

Tickets are sold out for both dates.
