Less than five months before they unleash their sixth studio album, Slipknot have announced the departure of Pinocchio masked percussionist Chris Fehn.

A statement posted on Slipknot’s official website reads: “Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.

“Long Live The Knot.”

Last week, The Blast reported that Fehn was suing Slipknot over an alleged feud over money.

Slipknot didn’t confirm or deny the story, however Corey Taylor later took to Twitter to write: “You’re gonna read a lot of bulls--- today. This is all I’ll say. JUST YOU WAIT TIL THE TRUTH COMES OUT. Long Live The Knot.”

Earlier this month, Slipknot confirmed they will release their fervently awaited sixth studio album on Friday 9th August 2019.

Preceding a sprawling 29-date Knotfest Roadshow US tour and their album release, Slipknot, of course, headline Download Festival on Saturday 15th June.

They appear on a weekend bill that also boasts Def Leppard, Tool, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Smashing Pumpkins, Trivium, Halestorm, Slayer (their final UK show), Rob Zombie, Simple Creatures and many, many more.

Tickets to Download Festival are on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.
