Watch Glenn Tipton perform two songs with Judas Priest in Birmingham

Glenn Tipton joined Judas Priest on stage at their homecoming gig in Birmingham last night (Tuesday 19th March).

The Judas Priest guitarist retired from touring in February 2018 due to the progression of his Parkinson’s disease, but he remains an official member of the legendary metal outfit.

As he promised when he announced his touring retirement, 76-year-old Tipton has made numerous guest appearances with the band over the past six years and he also remains active in the recording studio.

Tipton entered to a rapturous reception at the Birmingham Resorts World Arena last night and he proceeded to play the final two songs with his band mates, ‘Metal Gods’ and set closer ‘Living After Midnight.’

Judas Priest kicked off their UK & Ireland Metal Masters Invincible Shield Tour with Saxon and Uriah Heep in Glasgow last week, and the tour concludes at London’s The O2 on Thursday 21st March.

The Glasgow show saw Judas Priest give three ‘Invincible Shield’ tracks their first outing, opener ‘Panic Attack’ plus ‘Trial By Fire’ and title track ‘Invincible Shield.’

In Dublin four days later, Judas Priest performed ‘Sword of Damocles’ and ‘Crown of Horns’ live for the first time.

Glenn Tipton's performance in Birmingham was his first appearance on the tour, however Paul Quinn rejoined Saxon on stage for 'Denim and Leather' and 'Princess of the Night' at Leeds First Direct Arena on 13th March.

Last Friday, ‘Invincible Shield’ became the highest charting album of Judas Priest’s distinguished half-century recording career when it debuted at Number 2 in the UK.

The band’s 19th studio album has also hit Number 1 in Sweden, Finland, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
