Phil Mogg confirms UFO has ‘come to a conclusion’
Singer suffered a heart attack in 2022
Phil Mogg has confirmed that UFO have reached the end of the road.
Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock to promote a new remastered reissue of the band’s 1977 album ‘Lights Out’, the singer was asked if there was still “more to do” with UFO.
He replied: “No, no. I think it's come to a conclusion. We did that last UK tour in 2019, just before COVID. So that was kind of the end of it, and the time was right."
UFO did play a few more post-pandemic shows with a final performance scheduled for 29th October 2022 in Athens, Greece.
Unfortunately, Mogg suffered a heart attack that required two stents to be implanted into his coronary arteries, just a couple of months before that date.
The remaining dates of the farewell tour were cancelled and never rescheduled.
The band said at the time: “The doctors pronounced a strict performance ban for Mogg until further notice. This is why the entire Last Orders farewell tour, which was supposed to lead across Europe from October 15 to 29, 2022 before ending in Athens, had to be cancelled.
"If and when the tour or — at the very least — individual shows can be made up for, is currently completely unclear and will depend on Mogg's recovery, among other things.”

The new deluxe edition of ‘Lights Out’ features a number of bonus tracks and a newly-mixed recording of the first show on the Lights Out tour at The Roundhouse, London, on 2nd April 1977.
During the UCR interview, Mogg recalled working with producer Ron Nevison on the original ‘Lights Out’ album.
The singer said: “He brought a different kind of professionalism to it in his own way, because of his engineering and producing experience.
“He managed to put up with Pete Way and everything else. He was remarkably stable at that point. It was a breath of fresh air, a different bloke, a different way of working. He had different ideas, which we welcomed. We loved working with Ron.”
