Nita Strauss hails Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale as 'one of the greatest in the world'

Nita Strauss has lavished Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale with praise, saying she’s “one of the greatest in the world at what she does.”
Lzzy Hale lends her trademark vocals to a song called ‘Through the Noise’ on Nita Strauss’ second solo album ‘The Call of the Void’, which lands on Friday 7th July via Sumerian Records.
Other guest performers on the record include Disturbed’s David Draiman (‘Dead Inside’), former Megadeth axeman Marty Friedman (‘Surfacing’), Dorothy ('Victorious'), In Flames’ Anders Fridén (‘The Golden Trail’), Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz (‘The Wolf You Feed’) and Nita Strauss’ band mate Alice Cooper (‘Winner Takes All’).
In a new interview with Stereoboard, Strauss discussed what it was like joining musical forces with Lzzy Hale.
“I mean, ‘powerhouse’ is the only word,” Strauss said of Hale. “She is such a monster vocalist, performer and friend. Incredible human being.
“When she finished recording her vocal parts, she sent a text and was like, ‘You’ll see some takes where I was experimenting and trying some stuff, if you don’t like it, please don’t feel you have to use it.’
“And then I listened to these incredible runs she was doing at the end of the song, screaming her lungs out and hitting these notes that I knew she could do, but it still gives you goosebumps to hear, and I had tears in my eyes and texted her back all in caps like ‘LZZY, WHAT THE F*CK?!’
“It was incredible, and I love that her delivery of this unbelievable performance was like, ‘Hey, if you don’t like it you don’t have to use it.’ That story says a lot about who Lzzy is as a performer. She’s one of the greatest in the world at what she does but is still humble.”
Back in March, Nita Strauss announced she was returning to Alice Cooper’s band for his upcoming 2023 tour dates across North America.
Strauss took a break from Alice’s band in 2022 to tour with Demi Lovato, with Kane Roberts stepping in as her replacement.
Alongside releasing her own solo album, Nita Strauss performs and co-wrote songs for Alice Cooper’s new album ‘Road’, which comes out on Friday 25th August.

Explaining she's related to Johan on her father's side, Nita told Ultimate Guitar: "We have a lot of musicians, like, everyone on my dad's side of the family is all musicians, all the way back to the Viennese Strausses." Asked if she would consider performing Johan's music, Nita said: "You know, the waltz doesn't really sound good on the guitar. Like, I've sort of experimented a bit. I have to explore it more, because I would like to. And actually, we talked even about using 'The Blue Danube' as intro music for the tour or something, but it's so on the nose. It's sort of, like, so obvious, but I still want to explore it when I have a little more time."
