Help Musicians UK support musicians impacted by COVID-19
Help Musicians, the charity founded by Elgar & Vaughan Williams in 1921 to support professional musicians, is sadly needed now more than ever.
Last year HMUK were able to provide financial hardship support to over 19,000 music creators and increased access to their mental health services by 40%.
In 2021, musicians will continue to need this support at scale while the music sector recovers and rebuilds.

'My Life in Live Music' with Maxine Kwok
The night before Live Music Monday, Scala Radio began a new Sunday night series 'My Life in Live Music'.
Each week, a world-class musician will share the pieces that have had particular significance to them within the concert hall, either as a performer or a member of the audience.
The first episode was hosted and curated by Maxine Kwok, one of the first violinists in the London Symphony Orchestra. She shared her early concert memories, including attending a performance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto given by Itzhak Perlman, plus the pieces she’s performed most frequently with the LSO, such as Mahler’s Symphony No.5. Maxine will also select the piece she can’t wait to play once concert halls are open again: Ravel’s La Valse.
The other episodes in the series will be presented by Sir Mark Elder, Halle (9th May), pianist Stephen Hough (16th May), and soprano Danielle de Niese (23rd May).
