Joel Corry and RAYE open up about working with David Guetta on new track ‘BED’
A trio of dance music powerhouses!
Mega producer Joel Corry and popstar RAYE have opened up about working together on their new track 'BED' with superstar DJ David Guetta.
The epic dance collab is the follow up to last year’s record-breaking number one single 'Head & Heart’ featuring MNEK.
The pair caught up with Jordan Lee on Hits Radio to chat about the new music and working together.
Joel said, “The first time I met RAYE in the studio, we just instantly clicked and I just knew that I wanted to work with her so much.”
‘BED’ was initially thought up by RAYE, who came up with the lyric and David Guetta last year. It was later passed to Joel.
He added, “You know when you hear something straight away and you know it’s just magic? I instantly fell in love with it.”
Joel and RAYE have never worked together before, but the singer-songwriter said she was blown away with the producer’s work ethic.
RAYE said, “I love him. We started the initial idea and it was just the chorus. If it wasn’t for Joel, that little idea would just be in a sea of demos. He heard it, took it, had a vision and literally went so IN. I have 17 masters! You’re only supposed to get one!”
“His attention to detail is insane. More nuts than any other dance producer I’ve ever worked with! Joel smashed it.”
‘BED’ is a perfect pop banger and is the perfect tonic to the last 12 months and an exciting summer in 2021.
Joel said, “It’s good vibes all round. Hopefully we’re going to have a summer again so it’s perfect timing.”
So, can we expect to see Joel and RAYE appearing at a club in Ibiza soon?
“I’ve already been invited on the WhatsApp group!” confessed Joel.
RAYE, who has worked with David Guetta previously, said, “Me and David do a writing camp at his house once a year and we’ve made songs and then played them to his ridiculous audiences on the same day! It’s nuts. Joel – we’re going to have the best time in Ibiza!”

He said, "It's honestly been the most incredible Summer, I've been DJing in resorts like Zante, Malia, Managua, Ibiza, and it's been such a buzz because the tune has been massive out there. There's been loads of highlights over the Summer really, Ibiza is amazing, it's my favourite place in the world, so to watch it go off over the has just been incredible."
2020: Joel Corry releases 'Lonely'
'Lonely' was released on 24th January 2020 and it has been very successful for Joel.
'Lonely' reached Number 4 in the UK charts, the single has also been certified Gold in the UK moving 400,000 units!
It has also had more than 10 million views on YouTube since it was released in January 2020.

During the lockdown we've all had to practice social-distancing, however in Germany they held a car rave for those who were missing a night out. Here Joel's song 'Lonely' got the crowd going.

In May 2023, Joel and Caity released their banger 'Dance Around It'. Speaking about the release of his song, Joel said: "'Dance Around It' has been killing it in my club sets. Working with Caity on this record has been so much fun, she's really talented and I love her energy. The track feels super fresh and it really shows off Caity's personality. I'm buzzing to 'Dance Around It' all summer!"
2023: '0800 Heaven' with Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson
Joel Corry, Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson released their banger '0800 Heaven' back in June 2023, followed by an acoustic version a month later. The trio's song was written by Nathan and Ella, with Ella telling us: "This has happened very, very fast. The next thing you know he's (Nathan) sent it to Joel, Joel rings me and he's like, 'I want to come on it, we've got to do it together', and then, here we are, it's happening! So, we're absolutely buzzing.
"It is a really fun record," she continued.
